Briefly stated, a Guardian home is a “forever” home for one of my breeding dogs (see the photos below).

Because I want all of my dogs to have a quality home-based life rather than a kennel-based life, Guardian homes allow me to expand my breeding program while giving my pups and their Guardian families the very best.

A breeding dog should “have it all”. They should be a "best representation" of their breed, the cream of the crop. When I see a pup who is promising in such a way, I hold back that pup for evaluation.

As a Guardian home, you get a pup who shows all the signs of becoming the very best of breed in coat, confirmation, temperament, intelligence ... everything. I begin evaluating the pup before they go to their Guardian home and evaluations continue once they are living with their family. I pay for all breeding-related testing, and even if the pup does not become a breeding dog, the Guardian home still gets an exceptional pup.

I retain breeding rights for a clearly specified amount of time, with each contract being customized to create the best “fit” for each Guardian.  

Females will have a maximum of 3 litters in their lifetime, and though the pups will be born and raised in my home, which means the female will reside with me for approximately 5-6 weeks, I strongly encourage the Guardian family to schedule regular visits, walks, and play-time with their dog and her babies.
Males may have a longer contract, but their stay with me is usually just a few hours to one day at a time.

Beyond having an exceptional dog and being able to experience the magic of a litter of pups (without all the work!), there are also remunerative advantages for those who are approved as Guardians, plus the support and guidance afforded to you as Guardians of an experienced breeder's dog.
