What People are Saying

Hi Erin,
Hope you have now fully recovered from your 23 puppies.  We are really enjoying Ami.  You did an excellent job matching him up with us.

He is everything you said he is and more.  He is by far the fastest learning dog we have ever had.  He already sits, stays, fetches a toy, comes on command and goes into the down position.  All of this even before he has started puppy kindergarten.  He is also recognizing hand signals for these commands as well as.  His toilet training is going very well.  In those rare occasions when we  have let him roam around the house.  He has gone to the door indicating that he wants to go out to do his thing.

He is affectionate and calm with men, woman and kids from 3 to 70 years old.  He loves playing with his toys and with a 13 week old Pug named Churchill.  He is eating well, and starts puppy kindergarten next week.  He has lots of energy and loves to go for walks in our local state park.

All of your hard work and effort to provide an excellent, well adjusted, intelligent puppy has really paid off.  He is a wonderful addition to our family.

I want to thank you again for all of your hard work, effort, love and care you gave him.  I am sure it has contributed to who he is.

Regards,
Jay

Hi, Erin.

We just love Gus sooooo much.

He is developing very robustly! His personality is  gregarious and confident, and he is a quick learner.

Dr. Story thinks he is the coolest pint-sized cockapoo that he has seen in a long time.

He appreciates Gus’s outgoing “big dog” approach to life. Maybe Gus thinks he is a big boy like Gavin?

Gavin now allows Gus to cuddle up with him!

Gus is smothered in love (Don’t worry, though: I am the disciplinarian in the house so he’s not a brat at all.)

We start official puppy school this Sunday with Linda LeRoy. There are 3 other puppies in the class.

Thank you for selling Gus to us. We love him to pieces!

Take care,

Lucie

Hi Erin,

Thought you’d be proud to know the trainer at puppy class keeps telling us Lulu has the “best disposition” and is a “perfect puppy” (even when she’s a bit tired and doesn’t do everything as well as she does at home!)  She is smart and responsive and fun-loving and seems to us to be a good mix of assertive without being aggressive, so we’re really pleased with how she’s doing meeting the other dogs.  She has a 1 year old cockapoo friend across the street that she’s been having playdates with, and they really have a good time.  Anyway, I knew you’d like to be a fly on the wall today when she was being praised so much!

Take care, Joce

Hi Erin,

Just a short update - Higgins is a delight.  He is almost house trained with very few accidents these days.  He has been to the vet 2 times, had his 2nd set of shots, and is scheduled for his first grooming next week.  He has socialized with all the neighbors dogs and kids as well as our grandchildren, and he is enrolled in Puppy Kindergarten. We did have an initial visit at our home from the Courteous Canine and now we are actively involved in the classes.  At first Higgins hid under our chair when he saw all of the BIG puppies, but now he can hold his own - all 6 pounds 9 ounces.
Hope you are well, and I was wondering if you have any pregnant girls at this time (or do you take a rest for a few months?)
Thanks again for all of the work you do with the puppies to prepare them for their new set of parents.  It really makes our parenting job so much easier.
    Happy Autumn!
Marilyn

Dear Erin,

We feel very very fortunate to have found you.  What you do with your pups is nothing short of miraculous.

Desi is the sweetest, social, playful yet mellow, and most loving pup.  He has adapted to his new environment seamlessly.  He loves his crate and slept through the night!  The very first night.  In fact WE woke HIM up at 5 to go out.  We haven't even had any accidents yet.

Everything you have done has really paid off.  Yes, I'm a Believer.  Our neighbors came to visit him today and they were so impressed with him.  He is incredible.  Thank you thank you thank you!

Terry, Peter, Anika, Ava & Desi (and Bilbo and Bearpuss)

Hi Erin,
Awa is amazing.  She slept through the night last night and has had 2 huge sleeps today now that the house has quietened down.  She already sits to the command and saw the vet today. She loves exploring our big yard on the leash, and she has discovered  digging!  We have a lot of chipmunks and squirrels so she can smell them.  The snow was not so much fun and she did surprising well with the house training under the cold conditions.

Best,
lynette

Erin,

I have been meaning to send you some photos of Preston.  I did find a wonderful groomer here in town, and she just thinks Preston is the "perfect dog."

Preston is doing wonderfully.   He is now 15 pounds (a weight you predicted!), and he is just so intelligent and lovable.   He knows all of his toys by name.  If I ask him to go get "Squirrel" he comes back with his stuffed squirrel.   He does the same for Lamb, Rabbit, etc.  People don't believe me until they see it.

We have to thank you yet again because Preston brings so much joy to our lives every day.  He is so affectionate and so incredibly funny.   We are simply crazy about him.   He is everything and more than you told us about your pups, and he is truly a part of our family.   He is a very happy and loved little guy.

Hi Erin,

This is our first Christmas together, Fiona and I, and we couldn't be happier!  Thought I'd send you some pictures as a little present.  This little dog is my constant buddy, my "bankie" (she sleeps on the pillow next to mine, or snuggled up against me) and my bright shining star on the darkest of days.

She is a perfect match for me and we are both incredibly grateful to you.  Thank you so much!!!!

Pam and Fiona K.

Hi Erin,

Merry Christmas! Now that I finally bought a digital camera, I thought you might enjoy pictures of Bridget's visit to Santa to benefit the Sampson.

We had 16 + inches of snow this weekend. Her first snowfall. She discovered snow and began to plow her face into it and then, leap into the snowbanks. She wants to be outside all day long! What can be more fun than careening into snowbanks?

She just loves every adventure and every person she meets.

All the neighbors have brought her Christmas treats! They love her too.

I can't believe she is almost one year old.

I hope you are well and having great litters.

But you would be hard pressed to match Bridget.

Andrea

Hi Erin,

Happy Holidays! I hope you are doing well. We are doing great and as always, loving having Bentley in our life! He is so much fun and such a good dog. We go to a daily doggy group in Salem, where all sorts of dogs come together to play (very casual) and Bentley does so well!! He has the confidence to play with big dogs and the gentleness of playing with little puppies. We are very lucky to have him, thanks again!

Here is a picture of Bentley having fun in the snow today, yes he LOVES the snow!!!

DEAR ERIN,

I HAVE BEEN WANTING TO WRITE TO YOU BUT MY HUGE FAMILY ALL WANTED TO MEET ANGEL AND IT'S BEEN A SCHEDULING CHALLENGE TO GET THEM ALL IN AND TAKE CARE OF ANGEL'S NEEDS AS MY FIRST PRIORIY.

FIRST I HAVE TO COMMEND YOU FOR BREEDING AND SOCIALIZING THIS MOST INTELLIGENT AND SWEET PUPPY.

THE RIDE HOME WAS GREAT.  SHE WIMPERED FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES AND THEN FELL ASLEEP FOR THE NEXT HOUR AND A HALF. NO  SIGN OF CAR SICKNESS.  I HAD THE HEART BEATING WARM KITTY IN HER CRATE AND I PLAYED A CD CALLED "CANINE LULABYES" WHICH ALSO HAD A HEARTBEAT IN THE BACKROUND. (I ALSO PLAY THE CD ALL NIGHT LONG AND SHE SLEEPS WITH KITTY IN HER CRATE)

THE TRAINER WHO CAME ON FRIDAY WAS CAPTIVATED BY ANGEL. SHE COULD NOT BELIEVE HOW EASY AND COMFORTABLE ANGEL WAS WITH HER.(ANGEL HAS BEEN LIKE THAT WITH EVERYONE!!!) THE TRAINER WAS SUPPOSED TO STAY FOR AN HOUR, WHICH I PAID FOR BUT SHE STAYED FOR TWO HOURS BECAUSE SHE WAS SO AMAZED BY OUR 8 WEEK OLD ANGEL AND WANTED TO SPEND MORE TIME WITH HER. SHE GAVE US 4 ASSIGNMENTS FOR THE WEEK AND ANGEL HAS MASTERED ALL OF THEM ALREADY. MY 2 NEICES WITH DOGS WERE GREAT HELP IN MAKING A GAME OF THE TRAINING LESSONS . BUT WE'LL CONTINUE WORKING ON THEM EVERY DAY.

WE'RE GOING FOR THE FIRST VISIT TO THE VET ON TUESDAY.

ANGEL HAS BEEN SLEEPING GREAT. SHE GETS UP ONCE AROUND 4 AM TO PEE  (SHE HAS A SOFT WIMPER AND PUTS HER PAW AGAINST THE CRATE DOOR AND JIGGLES IT AND THIS WAKES ME UP) SO CONSIDERATE AND GENTLE.

SHE ALREADY KNOWS HOW TO OPEN AND CLOSE THE CRATE DOOR WHEN IT'S NOT LOCKED, WHICH SHE MUST HAVE LEARNED FROM YOU.

I FEEL LIKE SHE'S BEEN IN MY LIFE FOR A VERY LONG TIME. EVERY DAY IS SO MUCH JOY WITH HER. MY HEART IS SO FULL.

I AM SO VERY GRATEFUL TO YOU FOR THE WORK THAT YOU DID WITH MY ANGEL AND WITH YOUR COMMITMENT TO BREED TO THIS STANDARD OF EXCELLENCE.

I WILL STAY IN TOUCH. GOD BLESS!

ROCHELLE

 Hi Erin,
Elsie did very well on the hour ride home whimpering just a couple of times briefly.  So far today she has been the ideal puppy- 2 successful and on que peepees out back, a good lunch, lots of cuddling and playing and plenty of nap time (like right now). She seems to be very comfortable going into her new little crate finding a safe and cozy place when she is tired of playing.  And did we mention how adorable she is...but you know that better than anyone.

Thank you so much for your wonderful care and nurturing thus far.  We will do our very best to follow wisely in your footsteps.
The Pupos

 Dear Erin-
I'm sure this day holds very special memories for you.  I woke up this
morning and thought how much our lives have changed in the last year- the
best change, of course, being the addition of Midas to our lives!  Thank you
so much for allowing us to adopt him - I can't even begin to describe what he
means to us or how much joy he has brought to our family!  He has brought out
a side to each of us that I never knew was there!  He is the "little brother"
that the girl's never had and my 4th child!!   It is truly inconceivable to imagine life without him!
Thank you again!
Annette

Hi Erin,
Cody is doing great! We had a little birthday party yesterday for him and a few of his doggy friends. The party was a lot of fun, we had doggy cake and games, including an agility course. He is a very strong and fast pup!
I took him to the vet last week because he is on the borderline of needing the next Frontline dosage. He weighed in at 22.5 lbs and the vet says he looks PERFECT: fit, musclar, healthy and that his coat is BEAUTIFUL. Of course we love him to pieces…….

Love,

 Erin,
Just wanted to let you know that Cavaliere's trip home in his crate was so wonderfully uneventful.  He whined for a minute or two and we used some soothing "oks" and off to sleep he went for the hour and ten minutes home.  He took to the idea of the cozy insert we had at home and snuggled in with his bone gift and heart.  We practiced going to the potty almost hourly and he was successful on a few trips to "his" special outside area.  The best news is he went to bed at 10 pm next to our bed (in crate) and woke for a potty break at 4 am and went immediately back in until 5:15 am.  Not a bad start for the baby.  I consider it a success and I know it has a lot to do with how he was handled in your home. He completes our family and brings my 13 year old to near tears with his frisky antics.  We're in love.
Writing during his morning nap.
Sincere thanks,
Jacquie

Hi Erin,
Otis is doing great!  He is going to the door when he needs to go to the bathroom.  He loves his crate - he has his snuggle puppy in there and he bites his ears and tail and then falls asleep on top of him.  He also loves the yellow blanket you sent home and the pink heart.  He slept through the night last night and got up at 4:45 this morning ready to play.  I took him outside and he bounced and pranced around the yard.

He is very loved!
Jen

Erin
Blaike is fitting right in.  He did not care for the ride home in the car.  He cried and cried...............then settled  down.  When we pulled into the driveway Grace put his collar on him and he explored the back yard.  He ignored the paper and went pee pee right on the grass.  He has not had an accident yet!  He loved being outside with the children!  He would run from one to the other when they called "Blaike come here"  he would even sit when asked, once he came to them!!!  He is loving all the praise!!!

I can not THANK YOU ENOUGH.  He is so tiny, yet he knows SO MUCH.  He does LOVE his food!   He is my little shadow. I have NO idea how you took care of so many babies!!  He is such a JOY!!!!

I will keep you posted and will admire your kindness to these precious babies forever! We could not be happier.

Mary

Hi,
Had a great night!  Rocky awakened twice and each time was taken outside to do his business, and he did!  Both #1 & #2. Yay!  Took a little time to get him back to sleep after each (15 mins?), a little whining, but not bad at all.  He got the idea very quickly that he wasn't coming out of the crate. Up at 7:00AM

He is so good natured today, playful and sweet.   So, a little sleep deprived but otherwise okay.
Thanks so much for all your good care.
Rhonda, John, Tiger & Rocky

Dear Erin,

Was there life before Lizzie? I don't think so! She is very very dear and so much fun, also very very smart (smarter than I am) and a little devil. Just when I think everything is in hand, she thinks up some new tricks.

She always comes when I call her though lately she has been thinking it over a bit first. She sits on demand and is just beginning to  learn "stay". Anything like "heel" seems a long way off. She loves just running loose around the lawn and rolling in the grass. She wimpers a bit on car rides, but she settles down shortly. I have left her home alone in her playpen (thanks to your gates) but never for more than 1/2 hour.

She is very quiet when she wakes in the morning and waits for me to start moving (around 7am).

We think of you often and we are both very happy. Thanks, Marge

Hi again,

Overall Rocky is doing very well with his socialization. Has made friends with a very tiny Yorkshire Terrier, Bower, whom he meets on our daily walks.  They are the same age, but Rocky towers over him, but is very gentle.

Rocky is absolutely adorable.  His coat is sooo fluffy; the hair on his legs and face more curly.  The vet has helped me once to trim the hair around his eyes, still a little nervous about poking him 'cuz he doesn't stay still.  Last week, at our first puppy kindergarten class the owner of an absolutely gorgeous Samoyed puppy said, "I have never met a cuter puppy in my life."  He does receive lots of compliments.  Many wonder what breed he is, most think a Portugese Water Dog??  I love the fact that his tail hasn't been bobbed.

BTW - I found a cockapoo sticker which is now prominently displayed on the back of our car!
Hope all is well.
Take Care.
Rhonda

Franny is doing absolutely wonderfully!  She's finished teething and went through the spaying process just fine.  She's become everyone's favorite dog on our block, with her sweet disposition and her tendency to wiggle her butt whenever anyone approaches.  We just returned from a two-week trip through California with Franny, where she was able to frolic on the beach (absolutely adorable, even if we did have to live with her turning the backseat of our rental car into a sandy beach), swim in rivers, and play with a chihuahua named Jorge.  I'll be sending around pictures soon.  As always, we're so grateful to have Franny in our lives, and we won't ever be able to thank you enough for giving us such a sweet, well-mannered, loving pet. Thanks!
Peyton

Erin,

First…Merry Christmas to you and your “family.” May it be a blessed one for you all.

Findlay is THE most adorable, sweet young thing we’ve had the pleasure to know. He’s had maybe two accidents in the house, and is even going to the door already if he happens to need to go between the scheduled trips,  and truly loves people; he’s slept through the night for two of the three nights which we not only think is amazing, but greatly appreciated! He had his first Vet visit today and she too is in love! He’s been a source for great joy and laughter for our family. Thank you so much for your help over these last four weeks. We are thrilled!

I’ll send pictures soon, Erin,
Vicky

Hello Erin;
I am Dick and Doris’s daughter-in-law.  We went to meet our new family member today!  We are all completely and totally in love with Rosie.  She is so sweet and seems to have the perfect personality.....confident, curious, cuddly.  oh my!  She has settled in really well by my observation. She loved the grandchildren today....ages 2, 5 and 7.
Thanks for raising such a great puppy.

Toby is the perfect puppy.  He is adjusting very well. He‘s very happy in the puppy play yard during the day and at night, he’s sleeping in his crate in our room. He seems comfortable in the crate (has had no accidents in it) and usually only wakes up twice for about 15 minutes each time, does his business, enjoys a little quiet attention and then goes right back to sleep. The girls seemed to have really listened to your guidance and are very good with him. The only transition that we will be working on with him is to help him learn to be alone for short periods of time in the play yard. He really wants someone with him in the puppy play yard at all times (unless he’s sleeping). It will be another adjustment when the girls start back to school on Wednesday.  He’s eating well, has had very few accidents and to our surprise, loves the snow!!

Thanks again for everything.
Lee

Hi Erin,

Just wanted to touch base to let you know the twins are doing GREAT.  They are so cute and lovable; we all are enjoying them every minute.  I think by the way it’s going so far, they will be quite spoiled with love and attention.  The twins have made our family complete.

Thanks for all the joy you’ve brought to our family. Please keep in touch. The twins are doing fantastic on the potty training. I built a little fenced-in area off of the back room outdoors that belongs to them for training. They absolutely love going outside and like to play in the snow before they come back in. I can’t believe how quick they’ve learned the training.
Sleeping is a different subject. They’re doing okay on sleeping through the night but would love for them to sleep some more. :^) They’re great at telling us they need to go outside. But they also love to play together and wrestle… even in the middle of the night. Thank goodness for separate crates.

Thanks for bringing such joy to our family. Many great memories for everyone already.
Happy New Year!
Chris

Erin,
Clancie has had such a great impact on our lives we can not imagine life with out her.

You did a great job with her and now we have the most wonderful and loving little puppy we could have dreamed of. Clancie is happy, fun, very silly and most of all a huge part of our family.....

Thank you and we hope your holidays were great,
Jim

Hi Erin

Yesterday wasn't the moment, and we didn't really have time to say it: Thank you so much for everything!!!
Nya is just great!!!

She was whining on the way home, but settled down after 30 minutes and took a little nap - poor thing was exhausted!
Then at home she did a nice pee, explored the house, played, took a nice nap on her new lambskin, did pees and poops etc., drank and ate, no problem. She gets whiny at times when she is overwhelmed, is unsure, wants love and attention, etc., to let us know, we need to do something, and then she settles down nicely. She slept under the dining room table when we had dinner, and napped in front of TV at night together with Tom and myself, like an all grown-up dog, and, best of all, she slept through the night next to our bed INSIDE her new crate, door open, inside her new playpen, NO whining whatsoever!!! She is very good at house training - always goes when we take her outside, is proud when we praise her. She hasn't had any accidents, only a few excited sprinkles after she woke up and saw me. We are very impressed!
Our kids have really been trying to be considerate of Nya's needs, to give her some space and quiet in between. They deliberately went outside to play, although they were dying to play with her. That's the hardest part, but I know, both Nya and the kids will adjust....

I am amazed, how well she is coping. What a girl! We realize, that this is your doing - good genes and good upbringing!

So thanks again for that wonderful little girl, and enjoy your new found freedom!

Berit, Tom, Neal, Diego, and Josie

Erin,
When we picked up George two weeks ago, what I attempted to say, but couldn't get out of my mouth without tears, was thank you for what you do for people by raising these pups. Our life has changed in such a wonderful way as we learn more about this dog.
I hope your Mother's Day was great, because you are, after all, the original Mama to all of our dogs.
Trudy

Hi Erin,
Well our first day with Zak went quite well.  He cried in the car for about 15 minutes and then settled down.  We spent alot of time down on the kitchen floor playing with him.  He ate and drank and I took him outside and he did a pee and a poop.  Since yesterday was so nice, I spent time on the deck cleaning off some chairs and he watched me and explored the deck.  He loves a tiny red ball that squeaks.  I roll it on the floor and he goes and retrieves it.  In the evening after dinner we watched a movie and he cuddled on a towel next to us.  Before bed I let him out and he peed then I put him in his cage with some soft towels and then I told him to go to sleep and shut the lights out.  He cried for about 10 minutes then went to sleep and diidn't wake me up until about 5 am.  Not bad for a first night!  Anyway, he seems to be adjusting well to his new home.  We love him, he's so cute an cuddly and has the greatest little face.  Thanks for your little package for Zak, he likes the green monkey and sleeps next to the soft ball.
Fondly, Katrine

Hi Erin,
Thanks so much for all the information.  I wanted to send some pics to you, Franklin has settled in really well.  He has a GREAT appetite and loves to run around especially after his big brother.  He and Wilson play constantly and when Franklin is in his crate sleeping it seems as if Wilson is just waiting for him to wake up, he always goes and checks on him while he is sleeping.  Franklin naps well too, I put him down and can get 1 1/2-2 hours of "free" time in the morning and afternoon.  So far the most he he has got up is once during the night which is great, last night he got up at 3:15 and then again at 6:45 so that's been a plus (I am not so tired now).

Thanks again for our Franklin and I will keep you posted on his progress, take care.

Nancy

 Erin,

Baxter and I are adjusting well as we get used to each other's needs. My learning curve has been fast and fascinating! I discovered after a few days that Baxter responded best to a slow, very low-key approach where I used my lowest, calmest voice and "alpha" postures.

Anway, since those times he has been much calmer, happier, and more comfortable when I go in and out of the rooms. Plays contentedly with his chew toys while I occasionally talk to him and do a bit of training.

What also seems to enforce my calming, alpha status is occasionally a deep "clearing of my throat," even when I'm in another room! Seems to remind him that I'm still in charge, even when he can't see me.

On the house training part, he is a genius!
Has accepted our outings to the poop pen where I say "hurry" repeatedly to help him associate that verbal cue with doing his thing. We go out about once middle-of the night and he accepts going back to sleep easily. He sleeps in his crate on an elevated low table right next to my bedside where I can put my fingers in his crate to calm him back to sleep.

Genius in other ways too: I am training him to sit and  lie down. He also needs to sit before I give him a new chew toy, and "leave it" and not hold it when I randomly go and take it from him. I then toss it and say, "fetch."

He is gradually becoming less anxious in his crate when we go for car rides. Often falls asleep.

EVERYONE thinks he is just about the most adorable, handsome, darling pup they have ever seen!!
Judy

Lucy is doing amazingly well.  She weighs 9 lbs, and I have her at a wholistic vet who is very conservative about shots (thought you'd want to hear that.)  She is amaaaazingly smart.  She rings a little bell to go outside to do her business and knows sit, down, stay and come consistently.  She is very affectionate and loves all the attention she gets.  We keep the crate out and available, but she only uses it to sleep at night.  The rest of the time she is with us or, when we can't be directly supervising, in her playpen (thanks for that suggestion... it's a godsend.)  She is rarely alone for more than 3 hours at a stretch (and only once a day), and has started to ride in the car with me (in a doggy booster seat) when I do carpool.  She loves that.  She hasn't ridden in the airplane yet, but we're working on that.  We were thrilled to find out that the place in Vermont we're going in August takes dogs!  So she will not have to be away from us when we're on vacation.  She is very playful and enjoys playdates with a few select dogs from the neighborhood.  We're waiting to start puppy kindergarten (until September).

Fondly,
Martha

Erin – Happy to report that Milo is a thriving one-year old and he is the most wonderful addition to our family life.  I really can’t imagine that we ever lived without him. He’s a super-friendly dog, as everyone who meets him will tell you, and he’s currently asleep a few feet away from me.  He’s also about as cute as a dog can be and has the most beautiful markings. He was housebroken almost instantly – I don’t think he’s had a half-dozen accidents since we’ve had him – and he did great in his “puppy kindergarten” class in the spring. He’s just the best and he gets about as much love as any dog could imagine.
Thank you for bringing him into our lives, Erin.  We feel like we hit the puppy jackpot.
Jarrett

Hi Erin, You did great!!!!  Byron is awesome!  He did really great during the long ride to Maine – alternating between the crate and my lap.  The toys in the gift bag were well received, especially the rope on a heart!  When we got back he was very ready to play and we had lots of fun.  He is sleeping now and throughout dinner as well.  My sister is quite impressed.  So thanks for all you, Dixie and the rest have done in raising another fabulous dog and companion.  More again soon. Elisa
